Patriot Field of Flags (September 5 - September 13)

An annual display of 650+ American Flags located on the front lawn around the fountains.  This tribute to our first responders, troops and those who lost their lives in the tragedy that shook our nation on September 11, 2001 is coordinated by the American Legion Post 30 and volunteers from our community.

On Thursday, September 11 at 7 pm, there will be a memorial program to memorialize the men and women who have sacrificed their lives in defense of our country, specifically those from Georgia who died in the war against terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq since September 11, 2001.  Georgia Army National Guard Chief-of-Staff Col. Thomas Cardin, formerly of Smithville, Lee County, will be the guest speaker. 

On Saturday, September 13 at 7 pm, there will be a musical concert by Albany's own, Relapse. There is no charge for attendance. 

Flags will be removed on Sunday, September 14 beginning at 2 pm.  Volunteers are welcome.

Kids’ K.O.O.L.L. Expo (J2K) (11:00am - 3:00pm )

(J2K) A Journey 2 "Keeping Obesity Out of Life's Loop". Explore the many resources and community partners on hand to encourage and educate kids and families. Zumba, dance cheer, football programs,gymnastics, healthy eating, personal and household safety, and more. Register and participate in a fun "clue hunt" for a chance to recieve one of a limited number of goody bags and for a chance to win prizes.

K.O.O.L.L. is an organization dedicated to increasing mass awareness concerning Diabetes and lowering obesity in children and families. 
 
K.O.O.L.L. is passionately involved in promoting various ways that children of all ages can both become and maintain healthy bodies.  We consist of members with backgrounds that range from Coaches, Nurses, Choreographers, Gymnasts, Clergies, Teachers, and Principals, etc. 
 
K.O.O.L.L.’s efforts involve finding like-minded people who are willing to donate their time and/or monetary efforts to this organization to unite communities and schools for the cause of developing healthy children and families
